About Us

A PICTURE FRAME SHOP IN BERKELEY

Storey Framing was founded in 1974. Our commitment is to framing which enhances the art and ensures its preservation into the future. In order to achieve these results, we employ carefully considered aesthetic decisions with the highest archival framing practices.

We serve the art which we are framing. Current owners of important artworks or other valuable documents should be caretakers of these objects. Our job as framers is to protect and preserve artworks long into the future.

Another very important function of framing is to present the artwork in an aesthetically appropriate and pleasing manner. Our many years of design experience make this a very strong aspect of our work.

Testimonials

I have had many many items framed by Jim Storey of Storey Framing. He was originally suggested to me by artist Tom Killion and came highly recommended.  In fact, nearly everything in my home has been framed by Jim Storey. And for good reason. The quality of the work is exceptional.
- Kate F., Yelp

Jim and Larry do incredible work and I love patronizing their small shop whenever I have artwork to frame.  Their pricing may be a bit higher than some competitors, but I think that reflects their attention to detail and personal touch.  As long as I live nearby, I wouldn't imagine taking framing work to anyone else.
- Hannah B., Yelp
Three of my Marin-based clients have me drive their art to Berkeley for framing. Storey is that good. I quickly learned it is well worth the drive to Berkeley to use Storey Framing.  Jim and Larry are consummate professionals. The quality of their work greatly outshines two local purveyors I've used in the past. I would equate their attention to detail and execution to true craftsmen. Old school. Their selection of frames dazzles.
- Kae D., Yelp

They can frame anything!  And they know what they're doing.  If it's worth framing, it's worth coming here.  They might be more expensive than a place like Aaron Brothers or Michael's, but they will do an excellent job, and they will help you find something within your budget that you'll be thrilled with.  When I was on a young bride's budget, they helped me get a wedding sampler framed archivally within my budget and it's still gorgeous.   Since then, I've had them frame maps, prints, a piece of antique lace, photographs, and children's artwork, and it's always turned out even better than I'd expected.  Your treasures will be safe with them.  Their selection of frame moldings is beautiful, too.  If you want to take a little extra care to get something special and unusual, come here.
